Pleiades Series

For more information on the origins of the Pleiades Series and how this idea came to be, go to The story of the Pleiades Series.

Maia

Classic beauty. The first model I developed for the Pleiades Series is Maia, a solid body electric with bolt-on neck. As standard, the body can be either alder or Swamp Ash, the neck will be maple with a maple or rosewood fingerboard, but different tonewoods can be discussed of course. Maia comes with a Schroeder T-style bridge, two in-house wound VC Guitars single coil pickups, a 3-way switch and volume and tone control, different types and brands of pickups can be discussed, as well as different bridges and tuning machines.

Features:

-solid alder or Swamp Ash body

-bolt-on maple neck with maple or rosewood fingerboard

-neck attachment with steel inserts and bolts

-2 VC Guitars handwound single coil pickups

-Schroeder Tele bridge

-Gotoh tuners

-3-way switch, volume and tone control

-lacquer finish

Alcyone

Alcyone is the second model in the Pleiades Series and has completely different characteristics from Maia. Made with a solid mahogany body with a hand-carved figured maple top and a set neck, also mahogany, Alcyone is a music machine that can play any style, from jazz to rock. As standard, Alcyone will come with VC Guitars hand wound pickups, but, as with all my guitars, various options are possible. Exclusive woods, quilted maple or even 1-piece tops, pickups, inlays, hardware, colour finishes… anything you want to have your dream guitar created just for you.

Features:

-solid mahogany body with figured maple hand-carved top

-mahogany neck, glued-in

-rosewood or ebony fingerboard

-Schroeder tune-o-matic and stop tailpiece, optionally wraparound bridge

-Schertler tuners

-2 VC Guitars handwound P90-style or humbucker pickups

-3-way switch, volume and tone control

-lacquer finish

Antares

My take on the classic offset body. Offset guitars are just so cool, so that’s why I wanted to give it my own little twist. Flowing shapes, comfortable to play, and as always, many options to create a personalised guitar. The prototype shown is just one example of that. The standard Antares will have a JM style Descendant vibrato and bridge, but setups with Bigsby vibrato and TOM bridge like the one shown, or even a fixed bridge version are possible, as is the choice of pickups.

Features:

-solid alder or Swamp Ash body

-maple neck with maple or rosewood fingerboard

-neck attachment with steel inserts and bolts

-Descendant vibrato and bridge

-Gotoh tuners

-2 VC Guitars handwound single coil pickups

-3-way switch, volume and tone control

-lacquer finish

Stinger

The very first solid body I designed myself in 2003, Stinger is a double cutaway with a solid mahogany body, handcarved figured maple top and a set mahogany neck. The body itself is slightly thinner and therefore results in a lighter guitar. Possible options are the same as on all my guitars of course, highly figured flamed or quilted tops, colour finishes, choice of pickups and tuning machines…

Features:

-solid double cutaway mahogany body with figured maple hand-carved top

-mahogany neck, glued-in

-rosewood or fingerboard

-Schroeder tune-o-matic and stop tailpiece, optionally wraparound bridge

-Schertler tuners

-2 VC Guitars handwound P90-style or humbucker pickups

-3-way switch, volume and tone control

-lacquer finish
