Prewired controls for Telecaster, 4-way switch, standard layout, with treble bleed
Wiring harness for Telecaster style guitars, with 4-way switch option and treble bleed. The fourth position on the switch puts both pickups in series and sounds much beefier than the normal middle position. Switch positions are: 1st (switch towards bridge): bridge pickup alone; 2nd: normal middle position (pickups in parallel); 3rd: neck pickup alone; 4th (switch towards neck): both pickups in series.
Important: for this wiring to work, the cover of your neck pickup will need to be separately grounded and an extra ground wire for the metal cover is needed. A lot of pickup makers offer these as standard, but this can easily be done on an existing pickup by following these steps: Telecaster pickup mod
These kits are handmade in our own workshop, with quality components: CTS Premium 10% tolerance pots, Oak Grigsby 4-way switch, WD paper-in-oil tone capacitor and Switchcraft output jack; the treble bleed circuit consists of an .001µF Orange Drop capacitor in parallel with a 150k resistor soldered between the in- and output legs of the volume pot. This wiring retains more high frequencies when you roll the volume back; for those who don't like this circuit, we also make this kit without it.
